Overview

Greetings and welcome to Apollo Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AIPS), The Apollo University (TAU), The Apollo Knowledge City, Saketa, Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. AIPS is emerging as one of the leading Pharmaceutical Institute with an aim to train individuals displaying competency in the pharmaceutical sector to meet the requirements of the ever-growing healthcare sector. AIPS is aiming to groom next generation of pharmaceutical scientists, researchers, and academicians.

AIPS has a team of highly qualified faculty and good student population who would serve the health community of the society in future. The students are imparted with advanced educational skills and qualities required to be a responsible citizen. The college is equipped with sophisticated research instrumentation and is a well- established research centre in Pharmaceutical Sciences. The college is approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi. The faculties have published good number of research articles in peer reviewed national and international journals. AIPS, TAU has a recognized in-house R & D centre by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), New Delhi.

Research in the Pharmaceutics Department encompasses basic, applied, and clinical investigations in preformulation, drug delivery, and stability studies. The spacious laboratories are well equipped with state of art facilities like tablet punching and coating machine, FBD, tray drier, spray drier, granulator, etc to conduct both bench scale and pilot plant operations for conventional formulations. In addition, equipments like probe sonicators, homogenizers, microfluidizer, ultracentrifuges, facilitate undertaking research in the area of NDDS. The major thrust area of the pharmaceutics department is drug delivery. Recent efforts in the area of drug delivery include the development of Immediate Release systems, Modified drug delivery systems including Novel Drug Delivery Systems (NDDS), Targeted Drug Delivery systems like nanotechnology-based drug delivery and ligand conjugate based delivery systems.
