Health Informatics and Analytics is an interdisciplinary study of the design, development, adoption, and application of IT-based innovations in healthcare services delivery, management, and planning. It includes collecting, storing, analyzing, and presenting data in a digital format and harnessing the big data revolution to create secure, efficient systems that transmit health information and enhance healthcare management.
The M.Sc. Health Informatics and Analytics is an intensive and unique two-year full-time programmeme designed for healthcare and IT professionals and those who want to increase their knowledge and skills and opt for a career in health informatics and analytics. The programmeme will be delivered by national and international teaching team through live and videoconferencing facilities located in The Apollo University which will provide active synchronous and asynchronous learning, giving the ‘real-time’ experience of studying in the lecture rooms right alongside students. The programmeme uses state-of-the-art technologies and has a strong focus on practical experience in the classroom. It is strongly linked with National Health Service organizations and industry in India and abroad.

Graduation in any science group or MBBS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BDS/ B. Pharmacy/ Pharm.D/ Nursing/ Physiotherapy/ Allied Health Sciences or equivalent with at least 50% marks in the aggregate.

Since this is a new discipline, there are few jobs that include “health informatics” in the job title. Instead, graduates of this programme are typically employed as consultants, managers, systems designers, product developers, implementation and security specialists, health IT systems analysts, and researchers.
Do I need to have an IT background?
No. In fact, most of our students do not have formal IT training. If you don't know much about IT, you will need to work harder in the classroom to acquire the needed background. Students applying to graduate programmes without IT and math background may be asked to complete a preparation course that reviews college level IT, math, and informatics concepts. As long as you are good in analytical and abstract thinking and like technology in general, you should be able to successfully complete the preparation course and attend classes.
Our M. Sc. Programmeme provides the opportunities to learn enough technology to be successful in the field. However, it is always suggested that you talk to our faculty before applying to make sure that the programmes are right for you.

The project also includes a comprehensive exam where students are required to synthesize knowledge from the entire programme.
What is the thesis option in the M. Sc. programme?
Students who wish to continue their education in a PhD programme may complete a typical industry-based practicum. This will help them to design and develop objective of the study during PhD programmeme. The thesis constitutes original research by the student and can be done in two semesters.
