BSc - Optometry Technology

Optometry is a health care profession which deals with the examination, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and disorders of the visual system. It is a vision care science. This is a dynamic and challenging career, which allows one to help people, achieve personal growth, community respect, job flexibility and financial success and offers virtually unlimited opportunities. The program is envisaged to develop a multipurpose ophthalmic manpower at allied health program level. Course will enable a student to become a competent person in providing service as an Optician, Optometrist, Refractionist and Ophthalmic Assistant.


Duration: 4 Years

Eligibility

A Pass in Intermediate/ APOSS (10+2 pattern) or its equivalent examination with Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry or Intermediate Vocational (Medical Lab Technology) with Bridge courses or Inter Vocational with Bridge Course and should attain 17 Years as on 31st December 2021.

Scholarship will be awarded for deserving and meritorious candidates under following criteria (Only in the first year)

  • 95% and above will be awarded 25% of Tuition Fee and
  • 85% -94% will be awarded 15% of Tuition Fee
